Clavel Fine Murals — Est. 2009

Walls painted by hand, for rooms meant to last.

Original, site-specific murals for private residences and a small number of commercial interiors each year — dining rooms, libraries, restaurants.

About The Artist

Trained in New York, working entirely on site.

Maureen studied painting at the School of Visual Arts before establishing her studio practice in New York City. Every commission begins with the architecture itself — its light, its proportions, the way a room is used — and is drawn by hand before a single brush is loaded.

Selected Commissions

Dining room with a dark wood oval table, six carved wooden chairs, a candelabra chandelier, a wooden china cabinet, and large painted murals of herons and nature, with sunlight streaming through a large window with sheer curtains.
A room with a painted mural of a large tree and nature scene on the walls. There is a chandelier on the ceiling, a piano with sunflower decorations, framed pictures on the walls, and a person near the piano. A white dog with a black collar stands near the lower right corner of the doorway.

“She painted our dining room as though she had known the house for thirty years. It is the first thing every guest mentions, and the last thing they forget.”
